CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

Wrinkles and Lines Removed, Skin Tightened

A CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing could be the perfect treatment for you if you’re no longer satisfied with the results of IPL, topical creams and lotions. It is the "go to" procedure for:

  • Lines and wrinkles are are increasingly visible

  • Discoloration, age spots and redness

  • Loose skin, particularly along the lower face

The CO2 laser is a mainstay of cosmetic light therapies, and one of the original resurfacing lasers used in cosmetic medicine. For you, recent advances in technology maximize skin tightening and reduce discoloration with much less downtime than previous generation technologies.

Keep skin looking vibrant and strong.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing can be a foundational cosmetic treatment people in their 60s. Becky tells you her concerns and the cosmetic treatments she has selected.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing is the perfect procedure for mature skin. Textural irregularities and loose skin of mature skin can be improved with the CO2 laser. The delivery of high energy light into the skin stimulates it to rebuild, creating smoother, tighter skin. Many of our clients find that Botox and dermal fillers are great in the 30s, 40s and 50s, but as they age the lines and wrinkles advance and injectables aren't enough to manage their appearance.

If your crow's feet are still visible even after Botox (or Dysport) that is a clear sign you might be ready for skin resurfacing. The repetitive contraction of the skin by facial expression, combined with thinning skin from aging and environmental damage leave the skin with wrinkles even when the muscles are "at rest".

The application of a CO2 high energy laser to the skin removes a large portion of the top most portion of your skin (epidermis) and transmits all the down into the dermis. This energy creates controlled areas of removed tissue and the body responds by building new, fresh tissue.

Here are some reasons why you should visit Spa 35 for your CO2 Laser Resurfacing:

What is the Spa 35 CO2 Laser Resurfacing Procedure?

CO2 laser resurfacing is a light based procedure that uses a computer controlled CO2 laser to remove portions of the skin in a predefined pattern. The energy is delivered in a grid pattern with untreated cells between laser beams to allow for the rapid re-growth of skin tissue.

The new skin tissue that replaces the damaged tissue tightens the skin and reduces ages spots and redness. It reduces the rough texture of mature skin with smoother, tighter skin.

How does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

This precision laser creates thousands of microscopic perforations, which stimulate new collagen to grow. The new collagen improves your skin’s texture and tone to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The skin around each of these perforations remains intact, which allows the skin’s top layer to heal from the edge of these tiny holes very rapidly.

Combination Energy Treatments

For some clients a CO2 resurfacing laser procedure is performed in combination with a Profound Lift procedure. By combining the two treatments a higher amount of energy is delivered into the dermal layer of the skin. This results in greater regeneration of elastin, hyaluronic acid and collagen, providing additional tightening of the skin. Recovery time is extended when multiple energy based procedures are combined.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Frequently Asked Questions

How long will a treatment take?

A single treatment session can take 2-4 hours, depending upon the final treatment plan. After the CO2 procedure you should plan on about 5-7 days at home recovering, sometimes longer. It is important to completely read the informed consent form and discuss your post care treatment plan with the Spa 35 team. Please plan to have a driver take you home after the procedure.

Can men get laser skin resurfacing?

Yes. Men are increasingly recognizing the benefits of cosmetic skin treatments like CO2 skin resurfacing. Men may need to plan a day or two extra for the at home time after a procedure, as they typically do not wear make-up that can allow people to camouflage the after effects of the CO2 procedure and return to daily activity.

Do I need to plan for time off, for the treatments?

Yes. The CO2 laser resurfacing treatment requires you to rest and recover outside of a work environment. This can be as short as five days or as long as seven days (an more). Recovery time varies by the depth and pattern of the CO2 energy used, and your bodies recovery abilities.

How long will my results last?

The results are life long. We think of all our light based procedures as "turning back the hands of a clock". After the new time is set, the clock starts to move forward again. After your recovery period your skin will look refreshed, but the internal and external aging influences will begin from your new set point. Adherence to a well planned maintenance plan can extend the benefits of your CO2 laser resurfacing. Including the daily use of high quality sun screen and topical retinol. Spa 35 carries the Obagi skin care line to assist you in maintaining your resurfacing results.

Some of our clients elect to have CO2 laser procedures more than once.
